Get Help from someone who understands your Washington state Employee retirement benefits and can assist you with all areas of your financial situation.
Scenic Financial is a financial planning firm for Washington State employees. We assist Washington State employees in understanding their benefits from a financial planning viewpoint and assisting them in making the best decisions for their particular circumstances. However, we are not the right fit for everyone. To determine if our team is the ideal financial planning firm for you, let’s look more closely at what we do and how we assist our clients.
Washington State Employees Have Unique Financial Planning Needs
You are aware of the complexity of your benefits as a state employee.
There is a wealth of information available on financial planning. However, employees of the state of Washington do have certain financial planning considerations that are not covered by more general financial planning.
You may also discover a lot of information regarding your state retirement benefits online. However, it is typically intended to educate a group, which makes it challenging to decide how to make the best decisions for your circumstances.
It’s difficult to find a financial adviser that truly understands Washington’s Department of Retirement System. It’s much more difficult to discover one who provides comprehensive financial planning.
Working with a Financial Advisor Who Specializes in TRS & PERS Benefits is Different
Not only do we understand TRS and PERS retirement benefits, but we have also had the honor of guiding clients through the whole retirement process. And many of our clients continue to work with us long after they retire. Our team is among the top financial advisors for Washington state employees thanks to the unique mix of weekly educational content and having real-world experience working with clients who are state employees.
What Do We Do?
Retirement Planning:
- How much money do you need to retire?
- Where will your retirement income come from?
- When will you collect Social Security?
- Are you financially secure enough to retire comfortably and maintain it?
- Can you afford to retire early?
Investment Advice:
- How should your money be invested to achieve your goals?
- How should you invest your TRS 3 or PERS 3?
- How much risk do you need to be taking?
- Should you have a 403b plan?
- Will your investments be able to support your income needs?
TRS & PERS Retirement Planning:
- Are you getting the most out of your State Retirement benefits?
- Which benefit choices are best for your personal situation?
- Which survivorship option should you take?
- Does the TAP, TRS, or PERS annuity plan make sense for you?
Estate Planning:
- Will your assets go to the people you want?
- How can you make sure your family gets to keep more of your estate than the IRS?
Tax Planning:
- How will taxes affect your retirement spending?
- Can you lower your tax bill and keep more of your money, now and in the future?
We Examine Your Entire Financial Picture
Most financial advisors will only examine your investment portfolio. Perhaps an insurance agent only considers how much insurance you might require.
But, in reality, these things are not distinct. One aspect of your life can have a big impact on another.
You wouldn’t go to 3 different doctors and get 3 different prescriptions without telling each one about your other medications, would you?
But even if you did tell the other doctors what medications you were taking, what if they didn’t fully understand the side effects? Or how each medication interacts with the others?
Despite this, many people see multiple financial professionals who have no idea what the other professionals are doing.
Each professional appears to operate as if their ‘slice of the pie’ has no bearing on the other pieces – but it does.
That is why it is critical to have a financial professional who understands all of the various pieces of the pie and how they interact with one another.
Our team is unique in that we understand ALL aspects of your financial picture, including your Washington State Retirement benefits.
Looking for the right financial planner
Let’s take a closer look at what we do and how we assist our clients to determine whether we are the right financial planning team for YOU.
We are not for you if you simply want to open an IRA and manage it yourself or if the only thing you care about is your rate of return. There are plenty of bank representatives who can assist you with that.
We are not for you if all you want to do is buy an insurance or annuity policy. There are many insurance salespeople who would gladly sell you a policy.
If, on the other hand, you’re looking for a trusted advisor who understands both your Washington Retirement benefits and the finer points of advanced financial planning, contact our team.
The First Step
If you’re looking for a financial planner who…
✅ Understands your unique benefits as a Washington State Employee
✅ Can help you with all the pieces of your financial puzzle
✅ Wants to have a long-term planning relationship to help you achieve your goals and dreams
Then fill out the form below, to schedule your personal consultation. Please note that our planners’ calendars often book out at least 3-8 weeks in advance.
During your consultation, you can ask any federal retirement questions you have. Initial consultations generally last 45 minutes; but many people are amazed at how much helpful information they learned from our team in that time.
There is a fee for a personal consultation, but aside from that, there is no further obligation.
What Do We Charge?
We are a group of fee-based financial planners who work independently. Our clients pay a fee for our financial planning services, which varies depending on their circumstances.
A personal consultation with our team costs $299. If you are interested in moving forward after the initial consultation, we will be able to quote you a flat fee based on the level of assistance you require and discuss the next steps during your consultation.
Our fees are not cheap because we provide exceptional value to our clients. Have you ever noticed that you get what you pay for in life?
Do you really want the ‘cheapest’ financial planner to steer your ship? We want our clients to gladly pay our fees because they are extremely happy with our assistance and services.
Our Promise To You
We simply want you to be happy.
The value we will be able to provide to you will be worth many times the amount of money you paid us. In the unlikely event that you don’t think you benefited from your private consultation with us, we’ll refund your payment in full.
We want you to be happy about paying our fees because you are pleased and impressed with the value you received.
